Congratulations Shire Christian School HSC class of 2017!

27 students (43% of the cohort) were listed on the 2017 HSC honour roll for achieving a mark of 90 or above in specific subjects. The students scored 60 band 6’s and 145 band 5’s.

Emily Dewar achieved the NESA All Rounder Award for the highest band in 10 or more units of courses. She received an incredible ATAR rank of 98.9.

3 students achieved results that placed them in the top 10 of the state in the subject: Maans Mikael Lundstroem – 1st Swedish Continuers, Jasmin Cochrane – 4th Portuguese Continuers and Laura May – 9th Food Technology.

Other subjects with notable achievements included Music, Modern History and Mathematics General, all with average marks over 10% higher than that of the state average. 

All students studying Visual Arts, English Extension 1, English Extension 2 and Music achieved a band 5 or 6.

Strong academic results were also seen in Biology, English (Advanced), Mathematics (2 unit), Mathematics (Extension 1), Legal Studies, Society and Culture, Textiles and Design, Food Technology and Construction.
