Mr Brett Hartley M.Ed, BA DipEd
Brett’s work experience, prior to starting at as the Principal in 2015, is varied. Before starting his teaching career, he worked in a factory, as an advisor to a member of parliament and as a personal assistant to a judge. Brett’s first full time teaching position was at William Carey Christian School, teaching Economics, Legal Studies and Geography. After spending some time teaching IB Economics at an international school in Bogota, Colombia, Brett spent 13 years at Inaburra School in senior leadership positions. Brett has been a Christian since childhood, growing up in Presbyterian Churches. He is married to Kara, who has a full time role with the Sydney Anglican Church ministering to women. While they don’t have any children of their own, Brett and Kara are de-facto uncle and aunt to many children.
Mr David Stonestreet M.Ed Lead, BMus Ed.
David began at Shire Christian School in the 1990s as a music teacher, subsequently becoming head of music and then head of creative arts. Pursuing his interests in leadership, curriculum and technology, David joined the executive team in 2004 as the school’s first director of studies. He has since served in a number of senior roles in the school, and has been Deputy Principal since 2011. David is married to Elissa (also a music teacher) and they have two children, Bonnie and Eric, both current students at Shire Christian School. They live in the Shire where they attend an Anglican Church.

Mr Paul Carter Dip Teach, Grad Dip Christian Ed
Paul began his teaching career as a part time casual teacher/part time Scripture teacher in public schools in the Greenacre area. He then spent 12 years teaching all grades from 1-6 at Greenacre Baptist Christian Community School. Paul started teaching at Shire Christian School in 2005, was a Stage Coordinator for several years, and then was appointed as the Head of Junior School in 2011. Paul is married to Leanne and they have two adult daughters, Susanna and Emily.
Head of Secondary School
Mr Greg Smith M.Ed (Lead), Dip Ed, BSc
Greg started his career at William Carey Christian School in 1998, spent time teaching in England and then taught at Inaburra School for over 12 years. In recent years he has performed different roles including Science Teacher, Year Advisor, Head of Science and the Director of Welfare for the Senior School. Greg, who worships at Menai Anglican Church, has been married to Nicole for almost 16 years and they have two boys. He joined Shire Christian School in 2016 as Head of Secondary. A Sydney FC and Sydney Swans supporter, Greg enjoys playing soccer in an all-age team and likes to surf, fish and be anywhere near water in the holidays.
Mr Peter Watters M.Prof.Acc, BCom (Econ)
Peter commenced his role as Business Manager for the school in December 2013. He is an experienced and knowledgeable accounting professional with a passion for business process improvement and well-implemented systems and technology. Before coming to the school Peter worked in a variety of commercial roles – as finance and administration manager for a software developer specialising in fleet automation, and as general manager for the Australian branch of an architectural building products company. Peter has been a Christian since childhood and is married to Michelle who works as a head teacher at TAFE. They have three children, two grown up and one still in school.
